So as most of you who tap our Instagram rolling news stories know, despite few of us having the full details if Kanye did in fact attack a non-paparazzi civilian, Kanye West freaked out again.
Ye is currently under investigation in Los Angeles for misdemeanor battery after allegedly responding to a fan’s request for a second autograph with violence around 3:00 AM on Thursday morning after leaving Soho Warehouse in L.A. Police have yet to disclose further details as part of an ongoing investigation. West could see a maximum of six months jail time if found guilty.
TMZ posted video of the aftermath recorded from a passerby’s cell phone, the supposed victim sprawled on the ground while Kanye screaming erratically, resists advice to calm down from a lady who refers to herself as his family.
Kanye is now rumoured to have taken off to Indio to work relentlessly on his Coachella stage and set, but Kanye’s diplomats rarely release consistent information (see Russia, likely another stressor that resulted in screaming Kanye).
Since 2004, Kanye West has been in the pop media cycle nonstop. With his fingers in every honeypot now considering politics, religion, and a gigantic fashion brand, one must wonder where Ye finds the time or the organizational team to knock down the things he does. Even watching him jump through what he considers the hoops of marginalization, go on and off his meds, all the while releasing music and fashion that people still very much care about is exhausting.
I barely get a night’s rest running this blog trying to keep up with Kanye’s output, his batshit outsized interviews, album rollouts, the odd twitter rant…and every so often a public outburst caught on video. Kanye West’s outbursts are part of the lore each producing at least one quotable each time, whether it be “You ain’t got the answers Sway” “Imma let you finish” or “Hey TMZ I got liposuction because y’all made Rob feel fat and that’s why he didn’t come to the wedding.” God I feel bad for Kim.
But while the Hollywood system will surely feed Mr. West an upped dosage of meds, I present a different case. Kanye simply and logically does not have enough time to sleep, powernap, catnap, sit around and watch Netflix, or literally just sit quietly. Believe me, between @dondasplace, @kanyewestaurant, @aplasticplant, and @liljupiter I’m following his every move. In the leadup to Thursday at 3:00 AM, Kanye was been partying all night at Delilah with new boo thing Julia Fox, Madonna, Floyd Mayweather, and Antonio Brown (who is in the middle of a sabbatical that Kanye deserves) and recording with The Game and A$AP Rocky. Bro Kanye… why the fuck are you partying? What marginally sane person would be going out and partying right now with that workload?
We’re talking a Gap line that his billionaire status depends on, all night studio sessions with a who’s who of new talent dying to get in his studio, and who knows what the hell else? Sorry I’m in pyjamas but I just got off the PJ. Go to sleep bro. Throw on the Louis blanket and close your eyes. No kidding he’s attacking people who are asking for two autographs three in the morning after the week that was? In the words of Kanye university alum Chris Rock, “he shouldn’t have (done it)… but I understand.”
