With just a month left of a year that involved the returns du force of both Drake and Kanye, it’s pretty much a done deal – Adele’s 30 will most certainly be the biggest album of 2021. The album sold 660,000 units in the U.S. from its release on Friday November 19 to Monday November 22 which includes a whopping 560,000 traditional album sales. As a comparable, former champion CLB sold 613,000 in a full week.
Apparently nobody told me that Spotify shuffles albums without streamer consent, well not anymore. After Adele tweeted on Saturday explaining that Spotify’s recent removal of the default shuffle button from their interface came at the singer’s request, Spotify confirmed their submission.

Up unto this point, a small shuffle icon would appear within the play button, indicating that Spotify was shuffling albums without listeners turning this function on. Wow, what the hell is the point of that?
Meanwhile, the shuffle button still exists if people want to shuffle albums at their own accord and just to spite Adele I’m shuffling the crap out of this album. I’m joking, please don’t spite me. Let’s start with “Strangers by Nature” shall we?
The Guardian reported on Monday November 22 that chipper BBC Channel Seven host Matt Doran had botched an exclusive interview with the biggest artist in the world.
What was intended to be Adele’s sole Australian interview was reportedly withheld by Sony after Doran admitted to the singer mid-interview that he had only heard one song from her album, which was its intended focus.
The journalist, at one time a reporter for Seven Network’s flagship public affairs program claimed that he was “totally unaware” and that the email containing the advanced copy was “the most important […] I [had] ever missed.”
Both the interview and the Australian broadcast rights for Adele’s American One Night Only were reportedly secured with a one-million-dollar deal and a flight to London for Doran to conduct the conversation.
Women’s Agenda writer Tarla Lambert labelled the incident as “privilege personified” and said, “There are thousands upon thousands of highly qualified, talented reporters waiting in the wings who would kill for Matt Doran’s position.”
Doran has since apologized, has denied rumours that he was being suspended for two weeks or that Adele had stormed out of the interview. Instead he took the overworked twitter joke route: “Go easy on me.”
The Sun reported on Monday that Spice Girl, Mel B had her appearance cut from ITV’s An Audience with Adele after making a joke that the network deemed inappropriate. When tasked with asking Adele about the best gift she has received, Mel B jokingly claimed that she already knew the answer and suggested that it was a vibrator. Predictably, this didn’t get laughs.
The event which aired on Sunday to an audience of 5.5 million and featured celebrities like Dua Lipa, Samuel L Jackson, and Stormzy cut the appearance out of consideration for family audiences. Yet nobody is asking the most important question, who gave Adele the vibrator?
