DaBaby dropped his latest single through a new visual this morning.
Directed by frequent collaborator Reel Goats, the music video chronicles the Super Bowl weekend where DaBaby performed 14 sold out shows over the course of three days in Miami, referred to as his “Super Bowl.” And it’s a lot. The video features private jets, a hangout inside Diddy’s fully staffed house, diamond grill dental floss, Quality Control’s “Stripper Bowl”, L.A. masked dance troupe The Jabbawockeez, product placement for Carolina bottled water K20 owned by DaBaby’s DJ, and an incomparable amount of jewellery. Throughout the video DaBaby hangs out with Kanye West, Teyana Taylor, Meek Mill, and Shaquille O’Neill along with many others.
In regards to 2020, DaBaby opened the video with a message, “Now I know what me and 2019 had was special, but that’s nothing compared to what I have planned for you girl. You’re mine for the next 10 months and 22 days.”
DaBaby had a massive 2019. Undoubtedly the biggest rapper to emerge from last year, his debut Baby on Baby spread like wildfire seemingly over night before he dropped his chart topping sophomore Kirk. 22 of his songs have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in just under a year. Last month DaBaby was arrested in Texas for battery after he and his entourage allegedly stole 80 dollars, an iPhone 7, and a credit card from a promoter who underpaid him.
